Portfolio Energy Monitoring
This page consolidate all cross-site energy data to make a comprehensive comparison about energy usage of monitoring objects. It is client-level analysis that can monitor and track energy usage, providing you with a more integrated view.
You can use it to:
- Compare energy usage of same monitoring object across sites.
- Search for and view energy usage in different dimensions, to quickly compare energy usage performance of different monitoring objects and improve operational efficiency.
Term | Description |
---|---|
Interpolation Mode | When enabled, the system will automatically fill in the missing usage data during the period of data loss based on the original usage. The calculation method is as follows: the displayed daily usage = the original usage on the day of data restoration/(the number of days with missing data +1). When disabled, the displayed daily usage is the calculated daily usage upon the original reading values. Interpolated values are marked with * in the list. |
Interpolation Value | In Akila, some smart meters may experience data loss due to various reasons (such as meter malfunction, network issues, IoT data transmission/reception failures, normal meter shutdown, etc.). When the data is restored, the reading often experiences a sudden spike compared to the previous values, resulting in a peak in the usage value (electricity, water, gas) at a certain point in time. Therefore, we need to display these values in a smooth way. These values are called interpolation value. |
Energy Category | Include electricity, water, gas and heat. |
Data Grouping | Organize and categorize energy usage data, now you can only select Monitoring Group. |
% YoY Change | Compare the energy usage of your selected time interval with the same time interval from the previous year. The time interval can be customized according to your needs, such as 1 day, 30 minutes, or 1 hour, etc. |
Usage Intensity | Energy usage of the selected nodes/ Sum of operational area for all selected sites, such as KWh/M2. This can help managers know different energy usage of different areas. |
Total | Mouse hover on one object on the chart, you can view its total energy usage of all selected dimensions. |
Totals | Mouse hover on the Totals column, you can view the total energy usage of all monitoring objects of this column. |
View Energy Usage - Monitoring Point as Data Grouping
- Select Energy Category
- Select Monitoring Point as Data Grouping
- Select one Monitoring Group
- Select the monitoring object you want to view.
Note: The number on the left side of each node indicates the quantity of selected nodes within its subordinate tree structure.Nodes without a monitoring point configured cannot be selected and will be displayed in gray. You can also slide to enable the button "Hide nodes with no monitoring point configured" below the filters to hide them. - Select time period.
Note: When you select custom time period, you can enable the button "View by fiscal year" when selecting year. Then you can select and query data by fiscal year, which is configured on the General Settings-Additional Settings page. - Click "Dimension" on the top row.
Note: If you select time intervals- day, month, and year dimension, it means the chart and list will be displayed by time. If you select portfolio-site dimension, it means the chart and list will be displayed by sites. - Click "Sites" on the top row.
Note: You can select the energy usage of sites you want to check. If no sites are selected, it means you select all sites. - Click Apply
- Click "Go to Date"
Note: This step only works when you select Dimension equals to Day. You can select a specific date to view this day's usage breakdown list.
Query Result | Interaction Description |
---|---|
Chart | It can be displayed by totals mode or details mode. Totals mode display the total energy usage of selecting monitoring objects. Details mode display separate energy usage of selecting monitoring objects. If you click the YoY Change % legend or Usage intensity legend, the line or histogram will show or hide upon clicking. If you click usage intensity(KWh/m2) or Usage(KWh) on the top right corner of the chart, the Y-axis of the chart will be usage intensity or usage. |
List | The "Totals" column in the query results of the right-side list page will only aggregate the the usage of the nodes whose ancestor nodes are not checked. |
Chart and List | You may opt to toggle "full screen" mode for a clearer and more direct viewing experience. You can also drag down the line between List and Chart area or between left query objects area and right query result area to view the result. |
Export - List Usage Data
- After selecting corresponding filters to view the usage data.
- Click on "Export" in the lower left corner of the List.
Note: You will get an Excel of the whole list. If the amount of data is too large to be exported, you cannot export the file. You can reduce the number of nodes and shorten the time interval.
Interpolation Mode
- After selecting corresponding filters to view the usage data.
- Click "Actions" on the top right corner.
- Slide to open the "Interpolation Mode" button.
Note: In the columns of Total Usage, Usage, YoY Change and Breakdown Usage, interpolation values are all indicated by an asterisk(*) once enabled. - Click the "Export" button at the bottom left of the chart.
Note: If the platform has interpolation mode enabled, it will display the interpolated usage; if disabled, it will show the original usage.
Quick Filter
- After selecting some filters
Note: Time period, dimension, query object, interpolation/non-interpolation mode, chart modes, site and list attributes will be saved. - Click "Actions" on the top right corner
- Click "Add Quick Filter"
- Input the quick filter name.
- Click "Save".
Note: You can only add up to 10 quick filters. - Show on the left query part.
Note: Then you can also click "Edit" on the top right corner to remove it or rename it.
