Energy Price Configuration

Time-of-use (TOU) pricing is a dynamic rate structure designed to manage electricity demand fluctuations and renewable energy integration.

You can use it to:

  • Create and manage price templates.
Term Definition
Flat Period A time period when demand is relatively stable. This typically occurs during daytime and nighttime hours when electricity usage is lower.
Sharp Period A short period when electricity demand reaches its highest level, exceeding standard "peak" demand. This typically occurs during morning and evening rush hours when homes and businesses simultaneously consume large amounts of electricity.
Peak Period A period when demand is higher but does not reach the sharp level. This typically occurs around peak electricity hours, such as mornings before work and evenings after dinner. During these hours, electricity usage remains high but overall demand has decreased slightly from sharp periods.
Valley Period The time when electricity demand is lowest, typically occurring from late night to early morning when most people are sleeping, business activity is reduced, and industrial electricity usage is at its lowest.
Deep Valley Period An ultra-low electricity demand period with the deepest price discounts, typically occurring from late night to pre-dawn when surplus renewable energy is most abundant and grid utilization is minimal. This creates optimal conditions for energy-intensive operations through very low pricing.
