Portfolio Energy Monitoring
This page consolidates all cross-site energy data to provide comprehensive comparisons of energy usage across monitoring objects. It offers client-level analysis that monitors and tracks energy usage, providing you with an integrated view.
You can use it to:
- Compare energy usage of the same monitoring object across multiple sites.
- Search and view energy usage across different dimensions to quickly compare energy performance and improve operational efficiency.
| Term | Description |
|---|---|
| Interpolation Mode | When enabled, the system automatically fills in missing usage data during periods of data loss based on original usage values. The calculation method is: displayed daily usage = original usage on the day of data restoration / (number of days with missing data + 1). When disabled, the displayed daily usage is calculated from the original reading values. Interpolated values are marked with * in the list. |
| Interpolation Value | In Akila, some smart meters may experience data loss due to various reasons (such as meter malfunction, network issues, IoT data transmission/reception failures, or normal meter shutdown). When data is restored, readings often show a sudden spike compared to previous values, resulting in a peak in usage (electricity, water, gas) at a specific point in time. To address this, we display these values smoothly using interpolation, creating what we call interpolation values. |
| Energy Category | Include electricity, water, gas and heat. |
| Data Grouping | Organizes and categorizes energy usage data. Currently, you can only select Monitoring Group. |
| % YoY Change | Compares energy usage for your selected time interval with the same period from the previous year. You can customize the time interval according to your needs, such as 1 day, 30 minutes, or 1 hour. |
| Usage Intensity | Energy usage of selected nodes divided by the total operational area of all selected sites (e.g., kWh/m²). This helps managers understand energy consumption per unit area across different locations. |
| Total | Hover over an object on the chart to view its total energy usage across all selected dimensions. |
| Totals | Hover over the Totals column to view the total energy usage of all monitoring objects for that column. |
View Energy Usage - Monitoring Point as Data Grouping
- Select the Energy Category.
- Select "Monitoring Point" as the Data Grouping.
- Select a Monitoring Group.
- Select the monitoring objects you want to view.
Note: The number on the left side of each node indicates the quantity of selected nodes within its subordinate tree structure. Nodes without a configured monitoring point cannot be selected and will appear in gray. You can also enable the "Hide nodes with no monitoring point configured" toggle below the filters to hide them. - Select the time period.
Note: When selecting a custom time period, you can enable "View by fiscal year" when selecting a year. This allows you to query data by fiscal year, which is configured on the General Settings → Additional Settings page. If you click "Today", the usage data will be calculated based on the most recent completed 15-minute interval. - Click "Dimension" in the top row.
Note: If you select day, month, or year dimensions, the chart and list will be displayed by time. If you select the portfolio-site dimension, they will be displayed by site. - Click "Sites" in the top row.
Note: You can select specific sites to check their energy usage. If no sites are selected, all sites will be included. - Click "Apply".
- Click "Go to Date".
Note: This option is only available when the Dimension is set to "Day". You can select a specific date to view that day's usage breakdown list.
| Query Result | Interaction Description |
|---|---|
| Chart | Can be displayed in totals mode or details mode. Totals mode shows the total energy usage of selected monitoring objects. Details mode shows individual energy usage for each selected monitoring object. Click the YoY Change % or Usage Intensity legend to show or hide the corresponding line or histogram. Click "Usage Intensity (kWh/m²)" or "Usage (kWh)" in the top right corner of the chart to switch the Y-axis between usage intensity and usage. |
| List | The "Totals" column in the query results on the right-side list page aggregates only the usage of nodes whose ancestor nodes are not checked. |
| Chart and List | You can toggle "Full Screen" mode for a clearer viewing experience. You can also drag the divider between the List and Chart areas, or between the left query objects area and right query result area, to adjust the view. |
Export - List Usage Data
- Apply filters to view the usage data.
- Click "Export" in the lower left corner of the list.
Note: You will receive an Excel file containing the entire list. If the data volume is too large for export, reduce the number of nodes or shorten the time interval.
Interpolation Mode
- Apply filters to view the usage data.
- Click "Actions" in the top right corner.
- Toggle the "Interpolation Mode" switch to enable it.
Note: In the Total Usage, Usage, YoY Change, and Breakdown Usage columns, interpolation values are marked with an asterisk (*) when enabled. - Click the "Export" button at the bottom left of the chart.
Note: If interpolation mode is enabled, the exported file will display interpolated usage values; if disabled, it will show original usage values.
Quick Filter
- Configure your desired filters.
Note: The following settings will be saved: time period, dimension, query object, interpolation/non-interpolation mode, chart modes, site, and list attributes. - Click "Actions" in the top right corner.
- Click "Add Quick Filter".
- Enter a name for the quick filter.
- Click "Save".
Note: You can add up to 10 quick filters. - The quick filter will appear in the left query panel.
Note: You can also click "Edit" in the top right corner to remove or rename it.
